Course Description
Swim Instructor and Lifesaving Instructor certifications are a mandatory requirement for most major employers in the aquatic field, including the City of Toronto and the YMCA. This combined Swim, Lifesaving & Emergency First Aid Instructor course certifies you to teach swimming lessons and lifesaving courses such as Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross.

Course Description
The Swim Instructors course is the certification required by most major employers such as the City of Toronto, YMCA. In this course, candidates learn to break down swimming skills into progressions, make short & long term plans as well safe and effective formations to deliver a safe and engaging lesson. Candidates are not required to have their National Lifeguard certification prior to this course.

Course Description

This course allows you to teach the Bronze levels (Star, Medallion & Cross) as well as the Emergency First Aid with CPR-B courses. The Lifesaving Instructor certification is also the prerequisite for more advanced courses such as the National Lifeguard Instructor and Examiner course.

Course Description
The National Lifeguard & First Aid Instructor course is ideal for candidates who enjoy teaching lifesaving and leadership courses. After completing both the First Aid and National Lifeguard Instructor's courses, candidates will be able to teach the NL and all levels of first aid offered by the Lifesaving Society. Note that you must be an Examiner to evaluate and certify others in the National Lifeguard and Standard First Aid courses. You can become an examiner by completing the Examiner's Course and successfully completing an apprenticeship in each stream.

Course Description
The Lifesaving Society's "First Aid Instructor" (FAI) is a WSIB-recognized certification that enables candidates to teach all levels of First Aid and CPR offered by the Lifesaving Society. Upon successful completion, candidates will be able to teach all first aid courses, but to evaluate Standard First Aid students and issue the certificates, instructors must take an Examiners course and successfully complete an apprenticeship.

The National Lifeguard Instructor (NLI) course is an advanced instructor certification. Successful candidates will be qualified to teach the Lifesaving Society's National Lifeguard course. Candidates must note that only National Lifeguard examiners are able to certify others as lifeguards. In order to become a National Lifeguard Examiner, candidates must take the Examiner course and apprentice with a qualified Examiner Mentor.

Course Description
The Trainer Course provides candidates with an understanding of the expectations and requirements to teach instructors and prepares participants to successfully apprentice with a Trainer on the Instructor course(s) of their choice. It shapes positive attitudes and values about the Society’s Instructor Training program, planning, learning/teaching, and evaluation content and allows participants to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, teaching, and evaluation techniques.
